About Us

Mandee and the kids are the heart and soul of this rescue. They selflessly give day in and day out to ensure these dogs have the best life possible. Rescue life is 24/7, whether it's crawling under houses to rescue puppies, caring for the rescued pups, or raising funds to help even more. It's all about the dogs! 

For years, we dedicated our time to fostering and training dogs in Illinois for other rescues.  When we saw the conditions and treatment of dogs in Mississippi, we moved and decided to open up our own rescue, North Star Rescue!  While we are a new rescue (we officially started November 2022!), we have already rescued over 100 dogs and don't plan on slowing down anytime soon.

We are so thankful to all of the helping hands of the amazing community that we have found here in Mississippi! 

We want every dog to live the life they deserve. We provide dogs with the shelter, food, medical treatment, training, and the love of being part of a pack to get dogs physically and mentally ready for their forever homes. We strive to make this journey the best we can, not only for the sake of the dogs, but also for their future families.
